Note:  This position is available for remote work within the contiguous United States.  Preference is for candidates to work onsite in either our Corvallis, OR or Houston, TX office locations.

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:  Plans, develops, implements, and maintains Training Project/Knowledge Management solutions (including policies, standards & procedures) based on accepted Instructional Design principles. Participates in planning meetings for projects for the purpose of developing training strategy and working with cross functional teams to plan, develop, and implement training projects.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop instructional and participant materials including objectives, training documentation, visual-aids, assessments, training instruments, and course handouts and modular course material including video and interactive modules with a focus on maintaining complete, accurate, effective, and efficient training activities for all NuScale employees, consultants, and contractors per DOE and NRC guidelines.
  2. Develop eLearning modules including objectives, training documentation, visual-aids, assessments, and other training materials.
  3. Work with various software applications including but not limited to Articulate Storyline, Adobe Premiere Pro, Learning Management System, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, and virtual meeting platforms such as Teams, WebEx, Zoom.
  4. Pilot instructor led training and e-learning courses before implementation.
  5. Provide virtual training support. Perform problem identification and requirements gathering to improve or enhance virtual training systems.
  6. Provides input to Senior Manager, Training on assessments of various terminal and enabling objectives, departmental needs, business systems or changes to policies, procedures, or processes, which may impact related training needs.
  7. Create, maintain and apply documentation templates to develop training deliverables
  8. Adapt instructional materials for multiple formats. Maintain method for global distribution of training materials.
  9. Monitor emerging training development trends and standards, bring current best practices to the organization, and push the boundaries of creativity and impact in learning.
  10. Provides instructional services when required.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:

  • Education/Certification: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Instructional/Educational Technology or other relevant degree combined with directly applicable work experience is required.  A Master’s degree in Education with an emphasis on instructional media design and development is preferred. INPO Instructor certification is a plus.
  • Experience: A minimum of eight years of experience working with adult learners is requiredAdditional required skills and experience includes:
    • Demonstrated knowledge of the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT), adult/corporate training analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of synchronous, asynchronous, and blended learning development.
    • Development and design experience of leadership and talent development programs.
    • Experience with using learning management systems and an understanding of, SCORM, AICC, and Tin Can API.
    • Demonstrated success in course design, rapid development, evaluation, testing, and distance learning concepts as they relate to classroom and on-line training.
    • Demonstrated ability to use tools relating to training and media development, such as, or similar to; Adobe Captivate, Adobe Premiere Pro, or Articulate Storyline etc.
    • Demonstrated experience in using software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.
    • Demonstrated understanding of screen and graphic design concepts.
  • Industry Requirements:  Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

Pay and Benefits: 

The target pay range for this position is $111,105 - $134,093 annually.  The full pay range is $99,611 - $155,803 annually.
